Hello, my name is Alex Wang. I am a 17-year-old junior at WWP High School North. My musical journey began at six with piano lessons, leading to my passing of the ABRSM grade 8 piano performance by age 12. In recent years, I have been practicing piano under the guidance of Mrs. Clarfield in her private studio, where I have experienced tremendous growth as a piano student.

My passion for piano has been recognized through distinctions in competitions since joining Mrs. Clarfield’s studio. My awards include Grand Prix at Rising Talent Festival, First Place at both International Young Artists Competition and American Protege International Piano and Strings Competition, First Prize at Concert Artists International Competition, Gold Medal at AADGT International Young Musicians Festival, and First Place at Elite International Music Competition. These honors have given me multiple opportunities to perform at Weill Recital Hall within Carnegie Hall each year.

Beyond piano, I am also a violinist and have played as first violinist with both Symphonic Orchestra of GPYO (Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra) and YOCJ (Youth Orchestra of Central New Jersey).

Besides music, I enjoy math, computer programming, science, and painting. I am an AIME qualifier and USACO silver competitor. Moreover, I serve as director for Competitive Programming Initiative (CPI), an international non-profit organization that promotes competitive programming globally.

I look forward to continuing to pursue my music passion and move to the next level with guidance of Mrs. Clarfield.
