Hello! My name is Alyssa, and I studied piano with Mrs. Clarfield from 2017 to 2023. I’m currently a junior majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cornell University, though I’m taking the semester off to intern at a utilities company in St. Louis. The department I’m in works with protective devices that respond to abnormal conditions on the power grid, helping prevent equipment damage and even blackouts! 

Lately, I’ve also been exploring some new hobbies—I’m taking aerial silks and metalsmithing classes, working on singing, and still playing piano from time to time to stay connected with it. I think back to my lessons with Mrs. C and am grateful for how much she helped me connect with and express myself through music. Those lessons taught me the beauty of learning, creating, and feeling, and I’m excited to see where this next chapter takes me!
