Hello, my name is Cassia. I am 11 years old and entering the 6th grade. I began playing piano when I was 5, and joined Professor Clarfield’s studio just over a year ago. It has been an exhilarating time of tremendous musical growth for me, and also extremely fun!

I have enjoyed the wonderful experience of learning and performing duets with Alex Shih; together we won second place in the NJMTA Lillian Livingston Piano Duet Competition and the Special Judges Award of the NLPA International Young Artists Competition. I also received awards in the Elite International Music Competition, Great Composers Competition − Best Mozart and Best Prokofiev Performance, Music-Fest Rising Talents, NLPA International Young Artists Competition, and the NJMTA Spring Recital Auditions.

Besides piano, I greatly enjoyed playing oboe in the Village School Band and POPS! Ensemble. I also love competitive swimming, math, video games, origami and paper crafts, hiking, biking, gardening, sewing, drawing and creating artwork.
