Nikita Mamedov received his Ph.D. in Music with a concentration in Music Theory and a minor in Musicology from Louisiana State University. He also holds a Master of Music degree in Piano Pedagogy & Performance and a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano and Music Theory & Composition from Westminster Choir College of Rider University, where he studied with Professor Ingrid Clarfield between 2009 and 2014. In 2011, Dr. Mamedov was a winner in the Westminster Piano Scholarship Competition and was a finalist at the Princeton Piano Competition. He also performed with the Westminster Community Orchestra and at the annual Rangeley Friends of the Arts concert series in Rangeley, Maine between 2009 and 2018.
In addition, he has conducted research and published articles on music theory pedagogy, Neo-Riemannian and Schenkerian theories, interval relations, and harmonic dissonance. His works have appeared in the International Journal of Information and Education Technology, Musicology and Cultural Science, and the International Journal of Music Science, Technology and Art.
