Pianist Minjae Back has actively appeared as a soloist, accompanist, and teacher both in South Korea and America. Ms. Back has also collaborated with instrumentalists and vocalists, performing concerts at various venues, including The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Steinway Hall in New York City, as one of The New York Piano Group members.
Ms. Back completed her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College of Rider University, where she studied with Ingrid Clarfield. While at Westminster, she taught students of various ages and levels at Westminster Conservatory of Music. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance at Dong-A University in Busan, South Korea. Additionally, she studied abroad at Brahms-Gesellschaft Schleswig-Holstein e.V. in Hamburg, Germany, where she received professional certification in Piano Performance. Ms. Back resides in Iowa City, Iowa, with her husband, tenor Samuel Cho.
